De Notes 8 client is erg lastig te combineren met de 7 client, vooral als de Notes 7 client registry entries nodig zijn voor b.v. third party software. Na een aantal pogingen kreeg ik wat problemen met de Notes 8 client.
Un-installen is niet straight-forward zoals bij de 7 client, na de un-install worden kunnen de volgende akties nodig zijn (opgegraven uit de readme):
Delete the </installdir>\framework directory.
Delete the workspaceID directory (c:\Documents and Settings\<username>\IBM\RCP\<timestamp>).
Delete Documents and Settings\<username>/install.log and installed.xml.
Delete the following two registry keys, if they exist, using the Start > Programs > Run > regedit command sequence:
a) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lotus\Notes
b) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor Note: If the only folder inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\Lotus is Expeditor, delete the Lotus folder.
